The Cambridge Arts Council
This arts council, a non-profit organization based in Cambridge, works to bring theater, dance and music to the Smugglers' Notch area. From sponsoring concerts dedicated to women singers and songwriters to putting on programs at schools, the council works to enhance the cultural life of the area's villages. The Northern Forest Canoe Trail refers to a Vermont organization which encourages canoe and kayak travel along the lakes and rivers of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Quebec. The organization, based in Waitsfield, offers books, maps and web-based tools to help visitors plan their route along the 740 mi (1,185 km) trail.
