    Lake Carmi State Park

    Lake Carmi State Park is home to the third largest peat bog in Vermont. This 140-acre bog has been designated a State Natural Area, and there are camp sites around it. There are also two miles of lake front property that can be used as a hiking trail.

    Ascutney State Park

    Ascutney State Park offers picnic areas, 39 wooded tent or trailer sites, 10 lean-to sites, extensive hiking trails, a scenic auto toll road, panoramic views and a hang-glider launch site. This park has self guided tours with maps available at each parking area.

    Launch Zone Skate Park features an outdoor half-pipe and spine ramp. It is available for skateboarders, skaters, and BMX bikers. The park is open from June to October, from 10 am to 5 pm.

    Gifford Woods State Park
    Established in 1931, Gifford Woods State Park has the distinction of being an area that the well-known Appalachian Trail runs through. This park is a popular site for viewing fall foliage, as well as featuring a number of camping areas. A wooded picnic area and play area are also located here. In addition to a hook-up to the Appalachian Trail, day hike paths are also available here.

    Branbury State Park

    Situated at the base of Mount Moosalamoo and the shores of Lake Dunmore, the 69-acre Branbury State Park originally operated as a farm. Today, the park boasts a 1000 foot long beach, camping facilities, fishing and boating.

    Camp Plymouth State Park
    Camp Plymouth State Park is a 295 acre park located on the east shore of Echo Lake. 46 acres are developed, and feature horseshoe pits, a play area, concession, boat rentals, a large picnic area, and rental cottages. The remainder is set up with hiking trails, as well as hunting, fishing, and gold panning opportunities.

    Underhill State Park

    This park is set inside the 34,000 acre Mount Mansfield State Forest. Four trails lead to the summit of Mount Mansfield from Underhill State Park and there is some limited camping available. Flush toilets and cold water is provided, however there are no showers on the property.
